2017 Cadillac CTS-V is more than just a luxury sedan

To cope up with or even surpass several models dominating the autobahn storming segment, 2017 Cadillac CTS-V is the company’s new comeback that has seen some enhancement in order to stay not just relevant in sports luxury sedan class. Powering this vehicle is a bowtie 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine which cranks out a whopping 640 HP and 630 lb-ft of torque. This powerplant is adapted version from the engine that is also found in the Corvette Z06. With the help of this ferocious engine, the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V is capable of taking a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.7 seconds. Its top speed is around 200 mph. On the other hand it also returns respectable fuel economy of 17 mpg combined.

This engine is then backed by an 8-speed automatic transmission. Rear wheel drive configuration has been used along with it. Its chassis has been enhanced with a rigidity which includes the use of V-braces for the engine, strong rocker bulkhead, a tower-to-plenum brace and a shock tower brace.

This new 2017 Cadillac CTS-V is more than a goes-fine luxury sedan as some serious muscle design has been blended in with a crisp designer suit. The most important/significant highlight of this model would be its blacked out trim, domed hood, and wide tires.

And speaking of the tires, Special Michelin Pilot Super Sports ones have been used which are wrapped around 10.5 inch wide rear wheels and 9.5 inch wide fronts. This, in turn, allows cornering at 1G of lateral acceleration.

Its front fascia space is mostly used up by a wide mesh grille. The air intake below it (in the front bumper) is similar to the mesh pattern. LED strips run through the outermost section of the headlights and in the section which houses the fog lights.

As for the new Carbon Black package, it adds enhanced aerodynamics with a larger front splitter, rear diffuser and spoiler and there is also trimmed hood vent all of them crafted of the extremely stiff woven material.

Interior design:

This new Cadillac CTS-V is a winner in its interior cabin too as it comes with effective and high-build quality combination of good materials, design and integrated technology. A modern instrument panel has been laid out. Recaro ultra-bolstered sporty seats have been used for the ultimate comfort. Upholstery has been done with grippy suede microfiber and semi-aniline leather.


The company seems to have made no mistake in presenting technology and assistance in this new 2017 CTS-V. CUE infotainment system of the latest version has been featured. It includes Android Auto connectivity, Siri Eyes Free, Apple Car Play, voice-controlled navigation system and 8-inch center screen. There are also satellite and HD radio, 13-speaker Bose sound system, etc.

Single trim-organized equipment also covers features like 19-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, Brembo brakes, keyless ignition and entry, performance rear differential, etc.

Also standard are heated and ventilated front seats with 20-way power functionality, dual zone climate control, customable gauge cluster, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, etc.

For additional customization level it offers Luxury, Carbon Fibre and Advanced Safety packages.

The safety includes standard rear cross traffic, forward collision warning, blind-zone system, lane departure intervention and warning, etc.
