It is official that 2017 Dodge Viper will be the final year for the Viper series and to mark its successful run of 25 years, automaker giant Fiat Chrysler will launch five limited-edition cars under the same brand name. Apart from that, the model continues largely unchanged.
2017 Dodge Viper: New limited editions
- Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC –
It sports a green snake skin shade with a custom snake’s kin pattern. It is influenced by the VooDoo edition from 2010 and it also includes aero package and black-themed interior. Only 25 cars of this version were available because they were sold instantly.
- 2017 Viper VooDoo II –
Only 31 vehicles for this range were also sold in a few first hours. This version sports a black painted exterior and graphite metallic stripes combined with a red outline. It also has carbon-ceramic brakes and an aero kit.
- Viper 1:28 ACR –
This version comes with a black exterior finish with a red stripped rear wing. The model will roll out as a tribute to the 1:28.65 lap record set at Laguna Seca Raceway 2015 by Randy Pobst. 28 examples of this model were sold within the first hour.
- GTS-R Commemorative ACR –
This batch will flash the iconic white base combined with GTS-R GT2 blue stripe, inspired by its 1998 sibling’s victory in FIA GT2 race. 100 units edition were sold out in a few days.
- 2017 Dodge Dealer Edition ACR –
This variant is only marketed by the Viper dealers of Tomball and Roanoke. Just 33 cars in this line were available in few days. The car sports a white exterior with a blue central stripe. It also includes an aero package and carbon-ceramic brakes.
Fiat Chrysler guarantees to continue the one-to-one customization program for the 2017 Dodge Viper series. This company claims to provide 50 million different ways to customize the Dodge. Each car will bring along a car color-match cover with the owner’s name placed over the driver’s door.
In addition, there will be options of 16,000 body colors in varying shades, 24,000 stripe colors, 11 options in wheels, 16 interior trims, 7 aero package options, 4 suspension and 3 brake packages.
2017 Dodge Viper: Powertrain and Performance
Every car in 2017 Dodge Viper package is set to receive an 8.4L V-10 engine that is capable of generating a power of 645HP and 600 lb-ft of torque. This engine will accompany a six-speed manually operated transmission system.
The models will feature rear wheel drive and can generate acceleration from 0 to mph in a span of mere 3.6 seconds. City mileage will range around mpg while the cars can rev up to mpg on the open road. Improvement in the aerodynamic structure will allow the vehicles to reach a top speed depending on a model from 177 to 206 mph.
Ease of Driving
New Dodge Viper will feature carbon ceramic brakes, updated Aero Package and serial number instrument panel. The 8.4inch Uconnect touch screen will be placed on the dashboard. The display is integrated to convey the vehicle’s performance status to the driver.
The model will have adjustable pedals, track setting technology, five mode controls for stability and push start options. The vehicle will shed 40 pounds owing to aluminum dominated built to boost its performance.
