2017 Mercedes G-Class: Powertrains
When it comes to the powertrain, no changes have been provided to 2017 Mercedes G-Class. This means that base G550 variant will come in the United States with a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine. It is capable of generating 416 HP and 440 lb-ft of torque.
On the other hand, Mercedes AMG G63 comes with a 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 563 HP and torque of 560 lb-ft. The Mercedes AMG G65 comes with an engine that is capable of generating 621 HP and torque of 738 lb-ft
All engines works together with a seven-speed automatic transmission and power goes to full-time all-wheel drive system. Standard also are low range transfer case and front, center and rear electronically locking differentials.
