Civic-inspired new 2018 Honda Accord challenges to outperform its rivals

One of the most popular among family sedans, Accord is currently in its 9th version of produce. The tenth version 2018 Honda Accord is rumored to go through a host of changes just like the new Civic.

The heavily camouflaged prototype hosts change in its basic design which is somewhat different than the current model. This 5-passenger sedan appears to be narrower and comes with an improved interior. As rumors have it, this new vehicle will come as an entirely new vehicle.

Appearance wise, this new Accord is expected to look much different from the existing model. Like the new Civic, this vehicle is going to look sleeker which will add to its aerodynamics. The arched front and fastback roofline will make model’s appearance more aggressive compared to the current conservative look.

The grille and lighting clusters will also adopt brand’s latest design approach while the sheetmetal should feature more pronounced lines.

The new body style will be based on the version of Civic’s platform which will be lighter and stiffer than the previous Accord’s architecture. The model should also have the larger footprint.

Interior and Features:

The stylish new Accord comes with an all new interior which is designed to tackle its competitors in the entry level sedan range. Although car enthusiasts could not manage a proper look into its interiors, it’s expected to come with a new cabin.

Apart from being more spacious than its current model, 2018 Honda Accord should feature angular dashboard similar as on the Civic.

The new Accord will also improve the quality of used materials and will get upgraded tech and safety features. All versions will come with the large center screen with the Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. The model will get Honda’s latest package of active safety systems which should be available on all models.

Apart from the new chassis, the new Accord will be installed with new sets of engines. Replacing the older 2.4 liters, 2018 Honda Accord will come with an expected 1.5 liters turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. This is expected to produce an excess of 190 HP and 180 lb-ft of torque. This new engine is expected to consume lesser fuel.

It’s also supposed that the new Accord would get rid of the V6 engine, although Honda has not yet confirmed it as of now. A 2.0 liters turbocharged four-cylinder come as the replacement for the V-6. This engine should have the output of around 240 hp and torque of 270 pound-feet.

Apart from the petrol specifications, Honda Accord 2018 will include a hybrid powertrain also seen in the current model. A four-cylinder engine combined with electric motors will produce 212 HP combined and will return 48 mpg combined.

Honda has considered not revealing the exact date of its release but this new Accord can be expected towards the end of 2017. The base model 2018 Honda Accord should come with the price tag close to the current $23, 000.
