Honda CR-V model has been considered a very economical and convenient car. Honda mostly keeps on updating their new models and furnishes some improvements in them, but the upcoming 2018 Honda CR-V is going to see much more than that.

What’s new?

It has been said that this new Honda CR-V is going to be more of a revolution as opposed to being just an evolution. It is expected to transition to new generation with the most radical changes seen for far. Spied prototype suggests evolution of its exterior design and the model will also grow in size. What more it will come on the new platform and engines will go with turbocharging. Of course the latest tech and safety features will be integrated with new design.

So, when it comes to the design of the new generation 2018 Honda CR-V based on some reports and spy photos this model will grow in size and bigger body will be planted on the new platform while its sheet metal and other exterior elements will be redesigned as well.

Significant improvement for the upcoming CR-V will be a new platform which will be stretched variant of the architecture which will be used for the new generation Civic. It is lighter and more rigid than current version and will include around 80 mm longer wheelbase than on the current CRV. This will open more space inside for optional third row of seats.

From the visual point of view the changes will make new model sportier and inline with the newest vehicles in brand’s lineup. More aggressive front end styling will include grille that is similar to the one on the HR-V and there will also be longer and narrower headlights. The model will also get new L-shaped taillights which stretch deeper in the liftgate area.


About interior, as it was mentioned the model might offer optimal third seating row while standard will remain five passenger layout. There will also be more modern infotainment system as well as expanded list of the safety equipment. It is also expected that interior will get upscale treatment which means better materials and build quality.

This new 2018 Honda CR-V is sure to get some new options in the engine department. Honda will use turbocharged engines this time and we should expect that the Civic’s 1.5 liter turbo four will be used in the new CRV. It might also offer naturally aspirated engine as well as hybrid version.
