2018 Lincoln Aviator: Rumors, Design, Release, Price

With the comeback of Lincoln Aviator after a hiatus of 13 years, things are certainly getting interesting in the automotive industry. A subsidiary of Ford Motors, Lincoln motors launched the vehicle internationally in 2003. In 2005, just two years after its initial release, its production was halted by the car manufacturer as a result of low sales results. It was replaced by a new crossover SUV in 2007, known as Lincoln MKX. Now, with 2018 Lincoln Aviator, the model should be reintroduced and it is promising to be a game changer.

2018 Lincoln Aviator: Exterior Design

This new Aviator model should arrive as Lincoln’s version of Ford’s next-generation Explorer. Therefore, this luxury crossover should have a design that is quite similar to that of Explorer models. Of course, Lincoln will put its styling elements on the new Aviator but the overall shape and dimensions should be similar with Ford’s model.

The 2018 Lincoln Aviator model will include a new grille and new headlights with powerful LED technology that offers better vision for night driving. Chrome will be extensively used in the front fascia, as well as on its rear side.

On the other hand, considering the fact that new Aviator should be based on the new generation Explorer, it is natural to expect this model to be underpinned by Ford’s new modular platform. It will allow a broad range of powertrains and implementation of the newest tech features.


When it comes to the interiors, we should expect some similarities with Lincoln’s latest vehicles. High level of luxury and rich textures will be complemented with modern tech and safety features.

The new model will be available with Lincoln’s latest infotainment system and a long list of active safety systems will also make the ride easier and safer. The buyers will also have a chance to enjoy in other high-end luxuries and convenience features.

2018 Lincoln Aviator: Engine Options

The upcoming 2018 Lincoln Aviator could offer as much as three engine options, which makes things even more interesting. One of these three engines should be a naturally aspirated while two other should include turbochargers.

A 2.7-liter I-4 turbocharged unit should be available with power capacity more than 350 hp. Another turbocharged engine should be a 3.0-liter unit while naturally aspirated engine with 3.7-liter capacity should produce just above 300 hp.

All the engines should work in the pair with a six-speed auto transmission unit. Two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive will also be available.

2018 Lincoln Aviator: Release Date, Price

There is no official information yet, but the 2018 Lincoln Aviator is expected to release by the end of 2018. According to some sources, this model could be priced at around $35, 000.
