2018 Lincoln MKX: Release Date, Changes, Colors

Lincoln car maker has always had a reputation of being one of the best producers of luxury vehicles. This time they decided to give a few upgrades to the new 2018 Lincoln MKX. This luxury midsize crossover SUV is known for its attractive styling and well-equipped and comfortable interior. As well, it offers a powerful engine under its hood and it is good to handle.

The current version has already been revamped with plenty of safety and infotainment systems, new powertrain and a few features which provide more comfort. So, for the 2018 model, we cannot expect to see something radical only several more upgrades inside the cabin, perhaps new colors and upgraded technology. However, for a redesign version, we will have to wait for a 2019 model which will probably bring new exterior design and new transmission.

The new Lincoln MKX will continue to be offered in three trim levels. So,those are: base Premiere, Select and the top trim Reserve. The key competitors of the new MKX will be Mercedes-Benz GLE, Lexus RX, BMW X5, Buick Enclave, Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60.

When it comes to the powertrain, the new 2018 Lincoln MKX will be powered with the same units as the current model. The base model will get a 3.7-liter V-6 engine. This one will be able to produce 303 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque.

The next option will be a 2.7-liter V-6 twin-turbo EcoBoost unit. This engine will be more powerful than the previous one. It will be able to develop 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The both engines will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The front-wheel drive system will be standard while the all-wheel drive configuration will be offered too.

As for the fuel efficiency, the base engine with FWD is rated at 17/26/20 mpg in city/highway/combined. With AWD the ratings are 16/23/19 mpg. Moreover, the second engine with FWD is rated at 17 mpg in the city, 26 mog on the highway and 21 mpg combined. The AWD model shows fuel consumption of 17/24/19 mpg.

Design of exterior and interior

When it comes to exterior design, the 2018 Lincoln MKX will contunue the same design as the current model. It will feature well known twin-wing grille and LED headlmaps. The whole front fascia will look modern and attractive. The rear end will look hadsome as well and will get LED tail lamps.

Inside, 2018 Lincoln MKX is spacious enough to place five passengers comfortably.  The cabin is cozy, quiet and the ride qulity is on the high level. Depending on a trim level, it offers leather upholstery and 22-way power adjustable front seats too. The standard equipment include automatic dual-zone climate control, active noise canceling, parking sensors, Bluetooth and audio system with nine speakers. Furthermore, some of the available features will be Revel Ultima audio system with 19 speakers, ambient lighting, power tailgate and so on.

Release date and price

2018 Lincoln MKX should arrive in the end of 2017. As for the pricing, it is expected to start at around $40,000.
