The Yeti is the family SUV of the Skoda Auto family. This automobile is a compact SUV from Czech Republic. It was first launched at Geneva Auto Show in the year 2009. Top Gear magazine awarded this Soda Yeti as the ‘Family Car of Year’ in 2009. To continue its fame and to fend off competition, a completely new model is on the cards going by the name 2018 Skoda Yeti. Read on to find out its rumored specs and what to expect from this compact family car.
2018 Skoda Yeti: Design
A revamped Yeti will hit the market soon and will replace the current model. This new model will have an up-market design similar to Skoda Kodiaq full sized SUV. The platform will be same as Volkswagen Tiguan and the SEAT Ateca. With the MQB platform these models will also share the engines and cabin technology.
This 2018 Skoda Yeti version will be designed quite differently from the current model. The new version will be shaped more like a conventional crossover. The waistline (the part of bodywork and side windows) has been raised to give a sporty appearance. Its vertical roofline has been replaced with a rakish and sloping one.
Skoda family’s very own grille in the front will find place flanked by angular LED headlamps (like the ones on Vision S). Clamshell bonnet (which is expected on Kodiaq) is expected on this Skoda Yeti 2018 as well. Chunky wheel arches (SUV-inspired) will add a certain amount of flair.
The new Skoda Yeti is expected to come with the simple interior design but high-quality materials will be used. The automaker will put the focus on the interior space and comfort. The current model of Yeti has a space of around 410 liters, and a new one will have over 500 liters of leg space. The model will also include a modern infotainment system and safety equipment will be available in the much higher level than in the previous versions.
