Volvo’s awesome V90 Wagon is ready. However, the buyers from North America will have to make a custom order if they want to drive this gorgeous vehicle. The Swedish car manufacturer hasn’t set the exact price yet, but we think that the car won’t start below $55,000. In case you think that’s lots of money for the wagon, we assure you it’s nothing because you are looking at one of the best of the kind ever. The 2018 Volvo V90 Wagon features the most elegant exterior styling, really imposing interior and quite impressive powertrains.
2018 Volvo V90 Wagon: Engine Options
The 2018 V90 Wagon comes with engine options in the U.S. The base model will use a T5 engine and front-wheel drive. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder mill delivers 250 horsepower that runs front wheels only via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The more potent model pairs a T6 engine and all-wheel drive. This is basically the same version of the engine like the aforementioned, but combines turbocharged and supercharged technologies and delivers 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of twist. The option is also mated to an eight-speed auto gearbox. Even though they haven’t offered the most impressive T8 Twin Engine plug-in-hybrid powertrain right now, we expect to see the option sometime later. The impressive drivetrain is capable of pumping 410 hp and has an all-electric driving range of 30 miles.
Styling and Features
It is fair to say that the handsome wagon shares most of the exterior styling with the S90. But that’s not bad at all because both of them look really awesome. Of course, the rear end of the 2018 Volvo V90 Wagon is unique and very tasteful. Still, the car won’t just look nice. No, the carmaker made it smart as well. It’s equipped with Volvo’s semi-autonomous Pilot Assist technology which allows autonomous highway driving. Plus, they added City Safety object detection system, as well as a range of driver-assistance features starting from the usual things like parking assist and 360-degree cameras, as well as a range of sophistical features such as active high-beams, collision mitigation, large-animal detection.
The cab is identical to S90’s with the exception of the rear seat and truck of course. That’s the place where the wagon shows its “talent”. Yes, in case you pick the 2018 Volvo V90 Wagon, you will have a plethora of space for rear passengers and cargo. Of course, the seats can be folded down in all possible combination. The interior is truly luxurious. It combines leather, real wood, and some metal details, as well as premium tech including Apple CarPlay smartphone integration and Bowers & Wilkins audio.
Price and Arrival
Like we said, the Swedish car manufacturer hasn’t set the official price yet, but this will happen in a few days. However, the North American potential buyers won’t be able to see it anywhere before they make a custom order.
