After some period of time, Japanese manufacturer has decided to give some interesting upgrades to its well known pickup truck. We are talking about the 2019 Toyota Tundra. This model has been in a market for a decade. Since then, it has undergone just some mild refreshments in 2014. Therefore, now is the perfect moment for a complete redesign.

This full-size truck will definitively bring big improvements in every aspect of the vehicle. First of all, it is supposed to use the new D-4S dual fuel injection technology with its powertrain. Moreover, revamped interior, refreshed exterior design and other small improvements will definitively return its popularity among many pickup truck lovers. It will be available in several trim levels. Those are: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition and TRD Pro. As well, the new Tundra will be offered in Regular Cab, Double Cab and CrewMax Cab. Its main rivals on the market will be: Ford F-150, GMS Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado.

Engine and performance

The 2019 Toyota Tundra will be available with two engine options as the current model. Those are V-8 engines. The first option is a 4.6-liter V-8 engine with the output of 310 horses and 327 pound-feet of torque. The second is a 5.7-liter V-8 engine. This one is able to produce 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. It will be able to reach 60 mph in around 6.4 seconds.

Both engines will receive D4-S direct fuel injection system which will improve its power, fuel economy and emissions. They will be coupled to either an eight-speed or a ten-speed automatic gearbox. Furthermore, some sources say that it might get a 5.0-liter V-8 engine used in Lexus models. This unit will be able to make 394 horses and 383 pound-feet of torque. The maximum towing capacity of the new Toyota will be 10,400 pounds.

Design of exterior and interior

When it comes to exterior, the 2019 Toyota Tundra is going to be mildly refreshed. So, we expect revised grille with chrome details and bigger insignia in the middle too. Moreover, the bumper will get bolder design and will be placed a bit lower. The stylish headlamps will get LED daytime running lights. The Tundra rides on 18-inch wheels. However, this time we could see larger wheels as well.

It is still not precised when 2019 Toyota Tundra is going to be revealed to the world. Perhaps it could be sometime during 2018. When it comes to the price, the current model starts at around $31,000. Depending on a trim and powertrain it goes up to $50,000. So the 2019 model will definitively cost slightly more.
